Election season is in the air and we figured we’d get in on the fun too. After close to two months of planning, we’re nearing our first election. A lot of old fashioned elbow grease has been put in by our members to create this structure and we’re excited to roll it out. Below is information to participate for the upcoming election:
Bozeman DSA Officer Elections will be held November 1st at 6:00 PM during the General Membership Meeting.
Please read the following announcement carefully, as there are several important items to note:
1. You must be a dues-paid member of DSA to vote or hold office. To be eligible to vote, please forward your DSA welcome email (or other proof of your membership) to bozemanDSA@gmail.com by NO LATER THAN 6:00 PM on October 31, 2018.

2. Nominations for all offices will open on Monday, October 22nd and remain open until Monday, October 29th. You can nominate yourself here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DT6JMSP
3. In-person voting will occur on Thursday, November 1 at the General Membership meeting. If you are unable to attend this meeting, you may vote by proxy by sending an email with your votes to bozemanDSA@gmail.com by no later than 6:00 PM, November 1st.
Officer Roles and Responsibilities
Steering Committee:
Chair

Serve as chief officer of Bozeman DSA

Preside over general membership meetings as specified in Robert’s Rules of Order

Ensure that resolutions of the officers and general membership are executed

Liaison with press and public interest and act as official public spokesperson of Bozeman DSA
Vice Chair

Serve as vice chief officer of Bozeman DSA

Determine agendas for general membership and steering committee meetings

Ensure that resolutions of the officers and general membership are executed

Liaison with press and public interest and act as official public spokesperson of Bozeman DSA
Secretary

Ensure that detailed minutes of all general membership and steering committee meetings are kept and distributed to members in a timely manner

Act as custodian of all Bozeman DSA records, including membership lists
Other Offices:
Treasurer

Maintain all funds and financial records of Bozeman DSA

Prepare budgets and financial reports as needed
Social Media Director

Maintain the online presence of Bozeman DSA including social media and the Bozeman DSA website

Curate and moderate public content relevant to Bozeman DSA, coordinating with the Chair and Vice Chair as necessary
Community Outreach Officer

Plan and coordinate community engagement events including public outreach
